PRIVATE HOCKEY TRAINING

More one-on-one personal hockey training

WHAT IS THE SUMMER 16?

The Summer 16 is a private hockey training program that only runs during the summer months. With only 16 coveted spots, this program is designed to dramatically increase the “rate of improvement” for the hockey player. All the training is designed for your specific player. Whether your player is a forward or defenseman, younger or older, male or female, only been playing for a few years or highly advanced, we will design a customized training plan just for them. We can work with players as young as 7 years old or Division 1 scholarship players returning home for the summer.

WHO IS ALLOWED IN THE PROGRAM?

Only 16 players are accepted into this program, thus the SUMMER 16. The ages can range from 7 to 22 years old. We are looking for players that are passionate about the game of hockey and have a goal of reaching their maximum potential. This is not an inexpensive program, thus, we want players that are serious about improving their game and have a drive to achieve.

WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN PRIVATE LESSONS?

Private lessons afford players the unique advantage of personalized attention. These lessons allow the instructor to work with the player on exactly what that player needs. The depth of detail that can be accomplished during these lessons will dramatically accelerate the improvement rate of the athlete. Also, the high level on-ice training and sophisticated off-ice workouts will be a very powerful combination that will lead to dramatic results!

WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM OPERATE?

The program will operate during the months of July and August. Our flexible scheduling allows families to choose any week or weeks they want from July 8th thru August 30th. The weekly schedule will be Monday thru Friday.

WHAT IS THE DAILY SCHEDULE?

The player will arrive at the rink at 9:00am and the day will conclude at 3:30pm. A typical daily schedule looks like this:

Dynamic stretching session

1st Daily ice - private session (1 on 1 with personal coach)

2nd Daily ice - Semi-private shooting session (max. 4 shooters on ice)

Off-ice stickhandling session

Off-ice workout with personal trainer

Static stretching session

WHERE DOES THIS PROGRAM OPERATE?

The Summer 16 program operates out of the BRAND NEW Town of Tonawanda Ice Rink. This state of the art facility is conveniently located right off the 290 next to the Paddock Chevrolet golf dome.

WHAT WILL THE ON-ICE SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?

The on-ice sessions will be customized to each players needs. Each days practice plan will be carefully crafted to maximize the “rate of improvement” for the player.

We truly believe that with proper physical and mental training our players can separate themselves from other good players. The real secret lies in the details of the player's skill set and tactics. Building that separation or “competitive advantage” takes an in-depth development process. Our experience tells us that even really good players will not reach their potential without a “competitive advantage”. Some players are so close to success but lack that extra little something. That extra little something can be developed through a consistent series of private training sessions.

WHAT SKILLS AND TACTICS WILL BE WORKED ON?

We breakdown hockey into two major categories, the Physical Skills and the Mental Skills.

PHYSICAL SKILLS

Speed and Edgework

Eyes up Stickhandling

Passing

Pass Receiving

Shooting and Scoring

Physical Play

MENTAL SKILLS

Offensive Tactics

Defensive Tactics

Compete Level

Hockey I.Q.

Timing

Vision

High level tactics are critical to a players success. We describe tactics as, “how you attack a situation”. A player must have a plan of attack for all the different eventualities that occur in a game. Even though no two situations are exactly alike the same patterns occur over and over again during the course of a game. Most players do not have a well thought out plan of attack for these common occurrences. The players that do have a plan of attack have a serious competitive advantage.

WHAT WILL THE OFF-ICE SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?

The daily off-ice sessions will be run by a personal trainer. These sessions will be customized to each player considering their age, fitness level and overall goals. This training will include: dynamic stretching, static stretching, speed work, agility work, plyometrics (jump training), balance work , leg strengthening, etc.

The customized combination of on-ice and off-ice training will have your player in the best possible shape for the upcoming season.
